On-line Tutorials and on-line classes

First, I can't believe it's been 10 days since I have posted. Lots of summer fun and busy with friends and family.

I find myself, like alot of my art friends, drawn to some on-line classes. It just seems easier to do this than go to a "real" class.

One of my on-line friends, Sandy of http://sandy-sandyscreations.blogspot.com/ is a very talented woman and just put a FROZEN CHARLOTTE TUTORIAL. She is offering 5 tutorials in 2 weeks for just $25.

I signed up and am very pleased with the information she provides in her blog tutorial. Very creative and easy to do. So please check it out.

While you're there, check out a few of her posts. She loves vintage pin ups and is a great shopper of vintage finds. She has been published a couple times in Somerset and I have a feeling you'll hear more of her in the future when it comes to mixed media.

What classes are you taking? Any on-line classes? I am signed up for KC Willis Canvas Collage Class, Suzie Blu drawing classe, Sandy's German Charlotte Tutorial, Alisa Burke

Let me know what you're learning and where! Have fun and be creative.

Christmas in July

I been out of commission for about 7 days now but feeling better and trying to catch up on my blogging.

To do that I decided to do three separate posts to try and keep my posts concise and in some order so I don't ramble....kinda like what I starting to do now :}

Last Tuesday was Art Meetup where we were doing our first of a two-part project, a Christmas Paper Bag book. We had a fun time and you can see from our group picture there was much laughing going on. Or, was were they laughing at my "do-it-yourself" tripod for the camera??? hmmmmm (check out the pic below).

To see more on the project check out my OTHER blog. http://www.artmeetup.blogspot.com

Don't worry I'm not trying to promote Christmas but hey, I'm seeing Halloween stuff at the stores already. I turn and run screaming from that area...I refuse to think of Fall yet.

Have a great day!!

Winners of My Contests

Those that know me, know I am wacky and I proved it today after getting ready to mail off my Magnetic Memo Art Board to Silke who won. I searched and searched and concluded I must have sent this off to "someone" as a present....still can't place who.

I had to write an email to Silke and apologize. "Dear Silke: I am a BAD girl and losing my mind :}"

She was so sweet and told me not to worry. So nice, I am sending off a couple things to her and am going to make a Magnetic Memo Board to send to her cause it just ain't fair.

I promise I'll get it together SOMEDAY.

June, the winner of my Angel Bottle girl received her baby in the UK and was nice enough to send me a link to her blog cause I had asked her to send me a picture of her and the doll. I copied the picture here.

I know she'll enjoy her and I am happy she has a new home in another country.

Jane won the $50 Harry and David Gift Card. Enjoy!

More contests to come and I WILL VERIFY I HAVE the items. tee hee

See ya soon!

New Bunny in Town

Well, I wanted a pet and decided it really isn't the best time to get a puppy but wanted something cuddly and cute.

I opted for a Bunny. My friends niece had a 1 year old bunny that she wanted to give up for adoption because she is going to Paris to go to school (if only :}
He is litter trained and neutered. His name is Ly=sa (Lassie).

I don't like the name and will rename him but he is cute and so far the only problem was that he is a rabbit and does like to chew cords. I am busy "bunny proofing" the cords in the house and learned the hard way that my husband's oxygen cord was "very tasty". oops "where's my air, I can't breathe" ha ha

All is well and we are enjoying his antics. He loves veggies from a bowl and will attack you at the refrig if it's eating time :}

Thought I'd share some pictures. Any name ideas?????

What I did on July 4th

We decided to stay home and my granddaughter came over to help me paint furniture, have dinner and celebrate the 4th.

It was a beautiful sunny day here in Southern California. One of my friends gave me a small dining room table that I will use in my studio. Of course, it has to be painted.

We started painting it white but thought a little color would be nice so we choose a color I had handy, yellow. It looks great, love it. I might modge podge bits and pieces of collage on top have to wait and see how I feel about it when it gets UPSTAIRS.

I also painted a book case I picked up at a local thrift store. I love the look of the two new pieces and soon they will be in their new home.

It was a fun day...........maybe my granddaughter will come back and help me paint shelves??????????
